Raffaella Freyre is a figurative artist that portrays human emotions combining traditional techniques in contemporary life.
The vast majority of her works are greatly inspired on personal experiences and explore universal themes such as grief, suffering, solitude and fear. Portraying through her autobiographical work, the most humane affections, frequently those we seldom show and tend to hide and suppress. Freyre shows a light on them and allows her work to come alive through the viewer's own interpretation.
Her work has been exhibited internationally throughout Mexico, Italy, Spain, United States, UK and Japan.
She has been a finalist at international art competitions and recipient of recognitions, among them the Realist Art Salon Madrid and Jurors Award in the Art Olympia Competition in Tokyo.
She was part of the exhibition “The Human Dimension in Latinamerican Art” showcasing the top living figurative Latin American artists at MIFA Gallery, Miami and was also featured last year in interviews by magazines; Mujer Ejecutiva, Revista Quién and a! Diseño.
Freyre most recently was awarded the Lorenzo Il Magnifico Painting Third Prize Award at the XIV Florence Biennale 2023, Biennale Internazionale D´Arte Contemporaneo e Disegno in Florence, Italy.
She lives and works in Barcelona.
